Queen, mother of controversial singer and social media sensation Darlington Okoye aka Speed ​​Darlington has appealed to Afrobeats singer Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy to release her son.

Darlington has been reported missing for three days, raising widespread concerns about his safety and whereabouts.

A video circulating on social media showed a person bearing a striking resemblance to the singer being led out of his camp by men in Mufti in handcuffs, indicating his arrest.

The footage has raised concerns about Darlington’s whereabouts and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

Darlington’s mother accuses Burna Boy of arresting her son

In an emotion-laden video message, Queen said her son’s doorman informed her that the musician had been taken away by Burna Boy and his team, reportedly accompanied by police.

She said the family became aware of his disappearance after he made a video mocking Burna Boy and imploring the Grammy Award winner to temper justice with mercy.

‘I have just received this information as my son Speed ​​Darlington has gone missing. His doorman called my family and told them there was a video Darlington had made and put on the internet about Burna Boy. So he informed my family that Burna Boy had come with his team and they picked him up from his house,” she said.

“Please, Darlington is my only son. He’s the only son I have. I beg my fellow Nigerians.

“Everyone should help me beg Burna Boy. My name is Mrs. Koningin. Burna Boy, I beg you. My knee is on the ground. Mess justice with mercy. Please have mercy on my son. Please forgive him. Forgive Darlington.

Lawyer says Akpi is in police custody

Meanwhile, the popular activist and lawyer Deji Adeyanjuconfirmed that the missing singer is being held by the Nigerian Police in Abuja.

Adeyanju said Darlington, affectionately known as Akpi, was arrested in Lagos last Friday and subsequently transferred to Abuja where he has since been in custody.

The activist announced this in a post on his website X bill on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

He claimed that the arrest was based on a petition against the Burna Boy artiste.
