Real-time hash matching against NCMEC: now in Magnet Griffeye products

About a year ago, we announced our partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), the largest and most influential child protection organization in the US. Today we’re excited to launch the NCMEC GID, the first-ever solution for real-time hash matching with NCMEC data. The Role of NCMEC in ICAC Investigations

NCMEC operates the CyberTipline, the designated place in the US for reports of suspected online child sexual exploitation. Last year alone, the CyberTipline received 32 million reports. NCMEC also administers the Child Victim Identification Program (CVIP). CVIP helps provide information about previously identified child victims and helps locate unidentified child victims appearing in sexual abuse images so they can be identified and rescued. To date, more than 30,000 children have been identified through this program.

This means that NCMEC has a vast repository of relevant data for ICAC investigations, containing known hash information about CSAM. Efficient information sharing between NCMEC and investigators is critical to quickly identifying key data and protecting victims.

Introducing the NCMEC GID to Magnet Griffeye products

The new NCMEC GID, built seamlessly into Magnet Griffeye products, allows researchers across the US to match the latest NCMEC data in real time as they work on new cases for the first time ever.
