Swedish police arrest young suspect for shooting at Israeli company

According to media reports, an office of Israeli military technology company Elbit Systems in Gothenburg was targeted in a shooting on Thursday, with Swedish police saying no injuries were reported.

Police told AFP they had responded to a shooting “against an Israeli object in Kalleback” in Gothenburg, a coastal city in southwestern Sweden.

They added that no injuries had been reported and a young suspect had been arrested.

According to the newspaper Aftonbladet, the suspect was younger than 15 years old.

An investigation has been opened into “attempted murder” and an “aggravated weapons crime,” police spokesman Fredrik Svedemyr said.

Svedemyr said police had sent several patrols and a helicopter to the scene.
