Swedish police investigate shooting near Israeli target in Gothenburg

Swedish authorities are investigating a recent shooting near an Israeli site in Gothenburg, which has been linked by national media to defense electronics company Elbit Systems. In the incident, a young suspect, believed to be under the age of 15, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and serious weapons offences.

According to local police, there are currently no reports of injuries related to the event. Researchers say they have not discovered any concrete threats to other Israeli sites in the Gothenburg area. This comes after heightened security warnings were placed against Israeli and Jewish establishments in Sweden, following suspected gunfire near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm earlier this year.

The ongoing wave of gun-related violence in Sweden has been attributed to conflicts between criminal gangs. However, police declined to confirm whether the attack directly targeted Elbit Systems or whether broader Israeli targets were at risk.
