Police have so far arrested 11 people in connection with the incident, officials said.

According to a statement issued by the district police on Thursday, the incident took place on Tuesday (October 8) when constables Gulshan Kumar and Ritesh Kumar, acting on a tip-off, reached Bheria Rahika Gaushala area to arrest a person named Rajesh Kumar Chouhan. .

There was specific information that Chouhan was engaged in illegal liquor business in the area.

The moment both officers arrived there on a police bicycle, Chouhan’s supporters started pelting stones at them, the statement said.

Both injured officers sensed the seriousness of the situation and managed to escape. Later, the crowd damaged the police bicycle.

Both injured officers reached the nearest police station and were immediately taken to hospital.

Later, personnel from the local police station reached there and arrested some people.
