2024 Elections: 12 More Democratic Lawmakers Call on Biden to Resign

Several prominent Democratic lawmakers — including Sen. Sherrod Brown (Ohio) and Rep. Zoe Lofgren (Calif.) — joined calls Friday to urge President Biden to withdraw from the ticket, bringing the total number of congressional Democrats doing so to more than 35, according to a Washington Post tally. Earlier Friday, campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that Biden is “absolutely” staying in the presidential race and called him the “best person to take on Donald Trump.” The efforts come as the Republican ticket heads into the campaign trail, with former President Donald Trump and his new running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), planning a joint appearance at a rally in Michigan on Saturday. Biden remains in isolation in Delaware after testing positive for the coronavirus.
