H-1 Westbound Repaving Project Schedule Through July 2024

HONOLULU – The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (HDOT) is providing an update on the roadwork schedule for the H-1 Freeway Repair Project, from the Kapiʻolani Boulevard exit (Exit 25B) to the Vineyard Boulevard exit (Exit 22). The roadwork will take place Sunday evening through Friday morning, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. See details below.

Phase 2G: Two right lanes closed from the Lunalilo Street on-ramp to the Vineyard Boulevard off-ramp (Exit 22) Sunday evening, July 21 through Wednesday morning, July 24. The H-1 Freeway will remain open in both directions. See below for a map of the detour route.

Phase 2E: Complete closure of the westbound H-1 Freeway from the Lunalilo Street exit (Exit 23) to the Vineyard Boulevard exit (Exit 22) on Wednesday evening, July 24 through Wednesday morning, July 31. See below for a map of the detour route.

Phase 2A: Complete closure of the westbound H-1 Freeway from the Kapi’olani Boulevard exit (Exit 25B) to the University Avenue exit (Exit 24B) on Wednesday evening, July 31 through Friday morning, August 2. See below for a map of the detour route.

Motorists are reminded to drive with caution and follow all road signs. Message boards have been placed to provide advance information about the closure. Special police officers will be on site to assist with safety procedures. First responders and emergency services have been notified of the closure. All work is weather dependent.
