Atlanta Braves News: Ramón Laureano activated, rain in Atlanta, more

The Atlanta Braves announced Friday that outfielder Ramón Laureano has returned from the injured list.

Laureano had been on the injured list since July 10 due to an injury to his oblique abdominal muscles.

Laureano, 30, joined the Braves on a minor league contract in May and has since appeared in 11 major league games, collecting nine hits and a .257 average.

The Cleveland Guardians have agreed to an $8.95 million deal with first overall pick Travis Bazzana. The former Oregon State player was Cleveland’s first No. 1 pick in franchise history.

The Washington Nationals have recalled left-hander Jose A. Ferrer from the 60-day injured list. To free up a spot on the active roster, the club optioned right-hander Amos Willingham. The club also signed first-round pick Seaver King.

Nationals right-hander Josiah Gray is undergoing UCL surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. It has not yet been determined whether the procedure will be a full Tommy John.

The Colorado Rockies have officially signed third overall pick Charlie Condon to a $9.25 million signing bonus. It ties with Chase Burns for the largest signing bonus in MLB history.
