Denver Broncos Starting Offense Prediction for the 2024 NFL Season

They made significant strides in 2023, finishing with an 8-9 record. Can some of the young talent Denver added this offseason help them achieve their first winning season since 2016? Let’s try to predict the Broncos’ starting offense for the 2024 NFL season.

The Denver Broncos didn’t draft Bo Nix with the 12th overall pick to not start him in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season. He’s also the most experienced college QB in college football history, so you could argue he’s also the most NFL-ready. Sean Payton isn’t going to waste any time here; what’s the advantage of starting Jarrett Stidham?

There isn’t one. At some point, Denver has to make a decision about whether Bo Nix is ​​someone they think can be the franchise QB for years to come. They have to start that process as soon as possible, and there’s no better way to find out than by starting him at the beginning of next season.

That’s clear to me, but the Broncos may not name a starter until just before the season starts.

The most likely odd man out is probably Samaje Perine. Perine is the oldest of the bunch and is a free agent at the end of the season. The Broncos could also land a late draft pick for Perine. I’d also be willing to bet Denver drafts Notre Dame RB Audric Estime in the 2024 NFL Draft, essentially to replace either Perine or Javonte Williams.

While I’m not a huge fan of Williams, it’s clear he has a higher ceiling than Perine and is also much younger. The other RB in this comparison is Jaleel McLaughlin, the most explosive running back Denver currently has.

Ultimately, this will be a running back committee approach, so Javonte Williams being named the starter isn’t necessarily indicative of the workload he could receive.
