Piney River Brewing Wins Five Medals at US Open Beer Championship

Piney River Brewing won five medals at the 2024 US Open Beer Championship competition. The winners were announced this week from the US Open Beer Championship headquarters in Oxford, Ohio.

This year’s competition judged more than 9,000 beers in 170 different beer style categories. The competition is open to professional brewers and award-winning beers from homebrewers across the country. Judges come from England, Canada and the United States, and the judging takes place annually in Ohio.

Piney River Brewing has won the following awards, among others:

• Gold Medal for American Wheat Beer for his Float Trip Ale;

• Gold Medal in Kids/Sweet Root Beer for his Andy’s Root Beer;

• Silver medal in sour beer for his Missouri Waltz beer;

• Silver Medal in Imperial Stout Specialty for his Raise A Ruckus beer;

• and a Bronze medal in Nut beer for its Black Walnut Wheat beer.

Molloy joins law firm Carnahan Evans

Carnahan Evans PC has announced the appointment of attorney Nadia D. Molloy as an associate in its Litigation Practice Group.

Molloy holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a master’s degree in administrative studies with an emphasis in criminology from Missouri State University. Before attending law school, she worked in commercial contracting for 14 years. In 2023, Molloy earned her JD from the University of Tulsa College of Law. She worked as a Rule 13 Attorney for Legal Services of Southern Missouri during law school.

Molloy is admitted to practice in the State of Missouri, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She is a member of the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association and the Missouri Bar Association.

Helbig and Powell promoted at Hiland Dairy

Hiland Dairy Foods has announced the promotions of two key leaders within the organization. Effective immediately, Greg Helbig has been named Senior Vice President of Operations. Clay Powell has been named Vice President of Operations.

Greg Helbig has 39 years of experience with Hiland Dairy. He began his career in the quality assurance lab in 1985 and has held various positions including plant supervisor, corporate quality control manager and, most recently, director of operations. In that role, he oversaw all 18 of Hiland’s production facilities. He is also president of the Missouri Dairy Products Association and is involved with the Missouri State Milk Board, the QCS Purchasing Group and the International Dairy Foods Association.

Clay Powell has 35 years of experience in the dairy and food manufacturing industries. He began his career at Hiland Dairy in 1989 and has held multiple positions including supervisor, buyer, plant manager and improvement director.

Prange Elected to Board of Directors of American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri

Steve J. Prange, PE, Senior Vice President of Crawford, Murphy & Tilly, Inc., will serve the second of a three-year term as a director of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Missouri (ACEC/MO) in 2024 and 2025. Prange assumed the role effective July 1, 2024.

ACEC/MO, headquartered in Jefferson City, Missouri, is a statewide association of more than 110 leading engineering firms. It represents more than 11,000 employees who design billions of dollars in public works and private industrial projects annually. The council’s representatives are the design professionals, owners and top executives of these firms.

Lake of the Ozarks Open Raises Record $185,000 for Lake Regional Health System

The HK’s Lake of the Ozarks Open, held May 19-20 at The Cove and Porto Cima, raised $185,000, the most ever raised at a Lake Regional event.

All proceeds from the 2024 HK’s Lake of the Ozarks Open will benefit cardiac care at Lake Regional Health System and help purchase the Philips Azurion 7 Series. This industry-leading imaging equipment for the cardiac catheterization lab provides enhanced visualization to find and treat blockages in the heart and blood vessels, while delivering the lowest possible dose of radiation.

“Our community supports Lake Regional now more than ever because we are a nonprofit organization they believe in,” said Kevin McRoberts, FACHE, chief executive officer of Lake Regional Health System. “We are thrilled to see this community rally around our mission and step up to support the advancement of local health care. We thank the golfers, sponsors, donors and all the local businesses and community members who have helped make HK’s a success.”
