Investigation launched after body found along rural road in Mississippi County

An investigation has been launched after a body was found on a rural Mississippi road.

WTVA in Tupelo reports that on Thursday, July 18, the body of a man was found in southeastern Prentiss County.

According to Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar, the body was found near County Road 5091, just off County Road 5320.

Officials with the Prentiss County Coroner’s Office could not confirm the identity of the body and are awaiting autopsy results for more information.

Officials believe the body is that of Clifton Gray, who was last seen Tuesday evening (July 16) walking on County Road 5312, near where the body was found.

Two suspects were reportedly arrested on Friday, but no charges have been filed in the case.
