What is that structure in the southern hills of Eugene?

Project: A new neighborhood called East Mountain, near Moon Mountain City Park.

Place: Deerfern Road and Rockrose Lane, Eugene.

In Eugene’s tight housing market, it can be challenging for individuals and households to find a home that fits their needs and lifestyle.

A new neighborhood in Eugene’s Laurel Hill area is looking to offer new homes for sale in the Southeast Hills. The neighborhood, East Mountain, has seven different two-story floor plans to choose from, ranging from three-bedroom, two-bath homes to four-bedroom, three-bath homes. Prices for these homes start in the low $500,000s.

East Mountain is located near parks such as Moon Mountain City Park, Laurel Hill Park, Amazon Park, and the Floral Hill trailhead. The neighborhood is about a 10-minute drive from Edison Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, and South Eugene High School. It takes about five minutes to drive to the University of Oregon campus and just over 10 minutes to get to Lane Community College’s main campus from E. 30th Ave.

More than 20 homes in the East Mountain neighborhood have already been sold and occupied, while several homes are still under construction for future residents.

Subdivision Size: There are currently over 50 homes sold, for sale or planned for sale in the future.

Developer: Holt Homes, operating in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Sources: City of Eugene Planning and Development Department permit data, Lane County property data, Holt Homes.
