Two LSU football goals announce commitment decisions

Five-star wideout Derek Meadows and four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine are coming off the board Saturday. Will LSU win?

Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff will see two of their top prospects go off the board on Saturday as Derek Meadows and Jaboree Antoine announce their college choices.

Meadows, a five-star wide receiver from Las Vegas (Nev.), and Antoine, a Louisiana native, are atop the Bayou Bengals’ Big Board for the 2025 cycle, with the program putting all hands on deck.

It’s now Decision Day and the impressive duo, who are in the final stages of their career, will go out into the world in a few hours to announce their decision.

What’s the latest news?

The overview:

Derek Meadows: Five-star wide receiver

Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff are busy pursuing the No. 6 wide receiver in America. Five-star Derek Meadows will announce his decision soon.

The star player from Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas (Nev.) will choose between LSU, Alabama Georgia, Notre Dame and Michigan Saturday, July 20 at 2:00 PM CT.

Meadows, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound player, has risen significantly in the recruiting rankings and is a player the Tigers view as a top priority for the 2025 cycle.

With his impressive physical attributes and ball skills that have proven to be astonishing, Meadows is a sought-after player on “The Trail” and is ranked among the top 10 wideouts in America.

Meadows made an official visit to Baton Rouge this summer after watching Brian Kelly’s program midweek.

He’s had plenty of visits since then, but LSU wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton certainly did his duty in this game.

Meadows was originally scheduled to make a decision on July 13, but postponed his decision due to several factors.

A source at Notre Dame confirmed that the Fighting Irish spoke extensively with Meadows last week and presented an impressive NIL package, which likely prompted him to delay his decision.

Despite moving his commitment date to Saturday, July 20, LSU is in leading position to secure his services.

LSU, Notre Dame and Alabama were rumored to be the three schools making the most noise, with Michigan entering the fray at the last minute.

Meadows is a Michigan native with ties to the state, and the Wolverines are eager to tap into their connections.

Now, just hours away from a decision, all signs point to LSU vs. Notre Dame battles Alabama in the final period after five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham commits.

Cunningham, one of the top five wide receivers in the 2025 class, gives the Crimson Tide an elite wideout for the future. Kalen DeBoer’s group now gives Meadows the final push.

LSU has entered NIL space after securing a commitment from America’s top cornerback on Wednesday after DJ Pickett announced his pledge.

Now it’s time to move full steam ahead to Saturday, where LSU is hoping to get a commitment from another five-star team out of Meadows.

Jaboree Antoine: No. 1 Cornerback in Louisiana

Antoine, Bayou State’s top defensive back, withdrew from his contract with LSU in June after playing with the Tigers since January.

The Top 10 cornerback in America announced his intentions to retire from the Bayou Bengals, with a pair of powerful programs eyeing his services: Miami and Florida State.

Despite being promised to Kelly and Co. in January, Antoine has continued to make official visits to other programs in the Sunshine State in recent months, with both programs ramping up their efforts.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Antoine hails from New Iberia, La., and has skyrocketed through the recruiting ranks this year after cracking the top 75 in 2025.

LSU coach Corey Raymond secured the star cornerback earlier this year when he returned to Baton Rouge. Now that Antoine has resumed his recruiting, he’s keeping his foot on the gas pedal.

The finalists are LSU and Miami. There are less than 12 hours left before a decision is made, with LSU still in the hunt for his services.

There are ties to both programs. Antoine plays his offseason 7-on-7 ball with a South Florida team that has multiple ties to the Sunshine State.

He also officially visited Miami and has been to campus several times.

Antoine took Florida State out of the mix this week, as the deciding game was set to be an LSU-Miami matchup.

What’s the latest news? It depends on who you talk to.

Antoine recently decommitted from the LSU program, but the Tigers are still in contact and hope to have the star player back for the 2025 class.

He comes from the circle of LSU cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond and has stepped up his game even further recently.

With the decision set to come on Saturday, July 20, LSU is certainly in the running, along with Miami. Both programs are pushing hard to land one of the top uncommitted prospects for the 2025 season cycle.
