Two 16-year-old boys charged with first-degree murder at Montgomery gas station

Two young teenagers were arrested Saturday in connection with the fatal shooting that left a 21-year-old dead in Montgomery.

The suspects are both 16 years old, said Montgomery police Sgt. Tina McGriff. Their names are not being released because of their ages.

The teens are charged with first-degree murder in connection with Thursday’s killing of Hector Bamaca Yoc, who was sitting in his car at a gas station when he was shot.

The shooting happened at 12:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of West South Boulevard. Yoc was pronounced dead at the scene.

The murder occurred during a robbery. Crime Stoppers released photos of the suspects Friday seeking their identities and announced a reward.

McGriff said the teenage boys were taken into custody by the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. They are being held without bail at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
