2 Arrests In Connection With Reported Shooting In Dayton

Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Dayton on Saturday, a Dayton police officer told News Center 7 Crews.

Police and medics responded to reports of a shooting on Viola Avenue around noon.

Initial reports indicate that the suspects may have left the scene of the crime in a vehicle.

News Center 7 crews responded to the scene and saw multiple police cars near the Main Mart convenience store at W Parkwood Drive and N Main Street.

The sergeant said officers arrested the suspects, found multiple firearms in their vehicle and took them into custody for “illegal possession of a firearm.”

Montgomery County jail records show two people were arrested for gun possession at the grocery store around 12:30 p.m.

The sergeant said no one was shot or injured in the incident.
