Angel Reese sings Caitlin Clark’s praises during WNBA All-Star Game: ‘It was awesome playing with her’

If there were any concerns that Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark wouldn’t be able to play next to each other in the same lineup, they were put to rest during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game.

As two of Team WNBA’s most prominent figures, Reese and Clark were always going to be the subject of endless scrutiny at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. However, both showed up against the killer line that is Team USA. Reese made waves with her relentless pursuit of stray shots, while Clark lit up the score with her precision passing.

It was exactly the kind of performance WNBA fans were hoping to see from the two newcomers. As it turns out, the two were looking for the same kind of performance.

Reese and Clark seemed to enjoy sharing the floor. When Clark had the ball, Reese was usually right there, lending her services as a sort of sentry to crowd the Iowa product’s defender.

Reese also got a lot out of the relationship. After all, Clark is one of the best playmakers in the game. With the ball in Clark’s hands, an open shot is never far away.

Reese made her feelings for her new teammate loud and clear by sharing kind words with her former college foe during an in-game interview with ESPN’s Ryan Ruocco.

“It’s so cool,” Reese said of playing with Clark. “When she gets the ball, I run over and get the ball because I know she’s going to throw it. It’s awesome to play with her. Hopefully in four years, we’ll be Olympians together.”

Reese’s joy, however, went far beyond words. She also showed her support for Clark as she launched into one of her patented parking lot threes, a gesture that caught the attention of many on WNBA Twitter.

The duo has been telling fans for ages that they have no beef with each other, but just a healthy relationship based on competition and respect. Who would have thought they would do exactly what they have been telling us for months, if not years?!
