Sunday possibly few showers and thunderstorms, followed by even greater chances of rain next week

WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • – Sunday afternoon mid/upper 90 degrees with a chance of a few showers and thunderstorms

  • – Next week there is again a chance of scattered, daily rainfall, starting on Monday

  • – As a result, high temperatures drop to 80 degrees

FORECAST DATA:

I hope you have a good start to the weekend!

We start off on a relatively quiet note Sunday with morning lows in the mid 70s. Highs will then climb into the mid to upper 90s by the afternoon as a chance for showers returns. We’re calling it a 30%-40% chance for a few showers and storms moving into parts of the area after 2pm, with the best chances north of Highway 90.

There is a chance of some showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. on Sunday, but this does not apply to everyone.

Rain chances will increase even more next week as a more active weather pattern develops in Texas. High pressure will move west, allowing a disturbance and front to move into the Lone Star State, bringing scattered daily rain chances beginning Monday. It won’t rain all day, every day, but those chances will continue through at least Thursday, with some persistent rain possible into next weekend.

Precise rainfall totals will need to be updated over the next few days, but it now appears that at least two inches of rain could fall by the time all is said and done. We’ll keep you updated on any changes!

Additionally, you can expect the extra cloud and rain-cooled air to keep high temperatures down to the 80s as early as Tuesday. Welcome changes for late July!

More updates in the coming days. Have a nice evening! ~ Mia
