Loons win in 12 innings vs. Lugnuts

The Great Lakes Loons defeated host Lansing 6-2 on Saturday for their second straight win in a three-game series.

With the score tied at 2-2 at the end of regulation time, Great Lakes ended up scoring four times in the top 12e inning to win it.

Four Loons pitchers combined to hold the Lugnuts to just four hits, with Brandon Neeck (2-3) getting the win after pitching two scoreless, hitless innings. Starter Jackson Ferris took a no-decision after six strong innings, allowing one unearned run on just two hits and three walks with five strikeouts.

Nelson Quiroz had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored for Great Lakes (44-44), while Thayron Liranzo drove in two runs, Sam Mongelli tripled and scored twice, Josue De Paula had two hits and a walk and Dylan Campbell also had two hits.

The Loons and Lugnuts were scheduled to end their series on Sunday at 1:05 p.m.
