  • Anne Arundel County Police Arrest Suspect in Early Morning Car Thefts

    GLEN BURNIE, MD—An early morning patrol led to the arrest of a robbery suspect in Glen Burnie. Anne Arundel County police responded to a call at approximately 4:40 a.m. on July 19 reporting a suspicious person attempting to enter vehicles in the area of ​​Ridgely Road and Old Stage Road.

    The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Julian Christopher Wise of Edgewater, Maryland, initially fled the scene, leading officers on a chase through the backyards of homes. He was eventually spotted and arrested at 6:35 a.m. after a foot chase.

    After his arrest, Wise was found to be in possession of stolen cash and gift cards. Police are currently attempting to return the stolen items to their rightful owners. Wise’s arrest marks a significant response to auto theft activity in the area.

    STAFFORD COUNTY, VA—A unique scene unfolded yesterday afternoon in North Stafford that resulted in a DUI arrest after a mobile dance party in an SUV was stopped by police. The incident occurred on July 18 at 2:14 p.m. on Courthouse Road, near Dent Road.

    Deputy S.C. Martin of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office initiated the traffic stop after seeing two occupants dancing through the open sunroof of a BMW SUV. The unusual behavior of the vehicle brought immediate attention.

    Upon interaction, the 26-year-old male driver displayed signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol, which resulted in his arrest. The driver, who has a prior DUI within the past five years, is charged with second offense DUI, driving without a license, and reckless driving. He is currently being held without bail at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

    The passengers involved were found to be intoxicated, but were safely transferred to a sober driver. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public to “Drive sober or be arrested.”
