What’s the story

An Indian-origin man was shot dead on Tuesday night in a suspected road rage incident in Indianapolis, United States.

The victim, identified by his wife Viviana ZaMora as 29-year-old Gavin Dasaur, was found by police officers lying in the street with at least one gunshot wound.

The suspected shooter was initially arrested at the scene of the incident, but was released after investigators determined he may have acted in self-defense.

Reason behind the skirmish unknown

A shocking video that has gone viral shows Dasaur, who appears to be holding a gun, yelling at a driver in a white Chevy pickup truck during the alleged road rage incident.

Dasaur then tries to hit the driver when he points his own gun at him, firing repeatedly as the 29-year-old falls to the ground.

What exactly happened and what led to the skirmish and the shooting is still unknown.

Autopsy planned, police looking for witnesses

An autopsy will be performed by the Marion County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death and Dasaur’s cause of death.

As of Friday, the case was still ongoing and an investigation was underway.

In an interview with The Indianapolis StarDasaur’s wife said they had recently gotten married and wanted to start a family.

“We were so in love and had a lot of plans for the future… Like starting a family, enjoying our honeymoon and travelling the world,” she said.
