A beautiful summer day on Elmwood Avenue in Sharon Hill circa 1912. But where exactly? As you can see, there is no electricity on the block. Could there still be houses? (COURTESY OF KEITH LOCKHART)

Delaware County historian Keith Lockhart is working his way through a collection of postcards and photographs from about a century ago that somehow leave him confused as to exact locations and directions. Keith could use your help.

Keith tells the Daily Times“This week’s photo is of Elmwood Avenue in Sharon Hill circa 1912. I’m looking for an intersecting street, block number, etc.”

Can you help? Keith’s email address is [email protected].

Answers to last week’s mystery from Aldan:

Keith was right. It was a tough one. Only two got it.

McKnight Brothers: “The view is looking east on Springfield Rd. in Aldan from Clifton Ave. toward Glenwood Ave. The address of the first house on the right is 38 Springfield Rd. and to the left of that house is 40 Springfield Rd.”

Dorie Brossette, Historical Commission of Aldan: “The Mystery postcard of Springfield Ave in Aldan are two homes on the hill between N Glenwood Ave and Clifton Ave. The home on the right with the fence belonged to Frank and Elizabeth Buchanan. Buchanan’s daughter married Clyde A. Mauger, a local businessman who ran his oil business there. In the early 1980’s, Mr. Mauger added a two-story addition to the original home for offices. The property was later deeded to Dr. John Huyette, who practiced there until recently. The property was sold and the home has been converted back into a residence.”
