This is “Arkies in the Beltway” for the week of July 21, 2024. I’m Alex Thomas, Washington Correspondent for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, and your perspective on the influence of Arkansans on our national political conversations.

This week we look at an event outside the Beltway. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette joined Arkansans in Milwaukee last week as they attended the Republican National Convention and formally nominated former President Donald Trump as their presidential candidate.
