Lawrence man, 31, shot dead in Topeka – The Lawrence Times

A Lawrence man was killed in a shooting in Topeka on Saturday night, according to police.

Officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 2900 block of Southwest Topeka Boulevard around midnight Saturday, according to a news release from the Topeka Police Department.

“Upon arrival, officers found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene,” the press release said.

Police identified Earon Cooper, 31, of Lawrence, as the person killed.

The investigation was still ongoing on Saturday afternoon.

At the time of publication of this report, police had not yet responded to an email asking whether any arrests had been made.
