‘Mean Girls’ Star Tim Meadows: ‘F*** RFK Jr.’

Tim Meadows announced his weekend performances in the Mile High City with a simple promise.

“It’s me talking about myself. A lot of people know me from movies, TV shows, characters,” the “Saturday Night Live” alumnus told the host of “Ryan Schuiling,” heard earlier this week on Denver’s 630 KHOW.

“It’s an introduction to who I am, basically,” said Meadows, who recently starred in the musical “Mean Girls.” “I talk to the audience. They get to know me. I get to know them. We all come out better and nobody gets hurt.”

Fact check: true.

Meadows did a lot of crowd work during Saturday’s late show at Comedy Works in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The friendly stand-up was triggered by a Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. fan during a political moment late in the set.

Until then, Meadows had always been witty and wise, telling warm anecdotes about divorce, fatherhood and his love of pot.

The praise for RFK Jr. proved too much.

Meadows railed against the politician who challenged the two-party system in the fall, saying he claimed the COVID-19 virus was a hoax. The Kennedy scion is probably the most prominent vaccine critic, but has never doubted the existence of the virus.

Meadows told how he worked with RFK Jr.’s wife, Cheryl Hines, on the show “Son of Zorn” and ran into the couple regularly. He said RFK Jr. seemed like a nice guy, but changed his mind when he learned his political views.

He said he didn’t even want to have his picture taken with him.

“F*** RFK Jr.,” Meadows said.

The exasperated comedian eventually calmed down and apologized for the unfortunate transition. He felt guilty for succumbing to the divisive nature of the culture. That wasn’t his plan.

He bragged about how he spent time with people from all walks of life and different sexual orientations, and that we should focus on what unites us.

This list did not include Christians or conservatives.

The audience never left his side, even when the set spiraled out of control. They laughed throughout the performance and were more than willing to “forgive” the comedy star for his stand-up detour. He admitted that the transition distracted him from his planned conclusion, which would have included Donald Trump.

He had previously criticized the former president and joked about President Joe Biden’s frail physical condition.
