These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions.



SALEM, MA — These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Rebecca Dalphin was named to the Dean’s List at Hamilton College for the spring 2024 semester.
To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have carried a course load of four or more graded credits throughout the semester and earned an average GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Dalphin, a rising senior majoring in physics, is a graduate of Lexington High School.

Salem students named to the spring 2024 Dean’s List at Roger Williams University were David Hunt and Austin Medico.

The University of Hartford said Noah Thomas has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester.

Casey Weintraub was named to the College of Our Lady of the Elms spring 2024 Dean’s List.

Weintraub also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Language Pathology

Emmanuel College in Boston celebrated its 102nd Commencement on May 18 with the following Salem students earning degrees:

Catherine Hogan received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Media Studies. Hogan graduated with honors.

Lilliana Malionek received a Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy. Malionek graduated cum laude.

Aiyana Lilly received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Media Studies.

Emmanuel also said that Carlos Campos, Hogan, Emily Dodge, Alex L’heureux, Sophia Trindade and Malionek earned Dean’s List recognition this spring.

Emerson College student Lily Brown is one of 104 seniors and juniors inducted into Emerson’s Gold Key Honor Society on April 3 in a ceremony in the Semel Theater located in Boston, Massachusetts. The Gold Key Honor Society is an interdisciplinary organization founded at Emerson in 1962 to “recognize and encourage outstanding academic achievement.”

Juniors in the top 5 percent of their class, and seniors in the top 10 percent of their class who earn at least 48 credits are eligible.

Brown is majoring in Journalism and is a member of the Class of 2025.

The University of Rhode Island celebrated more than 4,100 of its newest alumni during the University’s 2024 commencement. Fiona Quinn Tierney of Salem received a Bachelor of Arts in History, magna cum laude.

Quinton Dooley received the degree of Bachelor of Science from the University of Hartford’s Barney School of Business. Quinton is one of 964 students who received graduate and undergraduate degrees this spring as part of the class of 2024.

Rem Valatka was named to the Champlain College Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester. Valatka is currently majoring in Filmmaking.

Alexandra Tatosky was named to the Plymouth State University President’s List for the spring 2024 semester. Tatosky is an Elementary Education & Youth Development major at Plymouth State.

Alana Doucette was named to The University of Alabama Presidents List for the spring semester.

Molly McIntyre earned a Master of Library & Information Studies degree from the University of Alabama: Master of Library & Information Studies.

Bryant University recognized Joanna Hendry for demonstrating an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and achievement by being named to the spring 2024 Deans’ List.

Jimmy Espinal and Brendan Sheehan were named to the Dean’s List at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Espinal is majoring in Architectural Engineering and Sheehan is majoring in Physics.

Jacob Dumont and Lola Palm were named to the Stonehill College Dean’s List.

Kendra Bingham earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Elementary Education at American International College. Cosima Welch earned a Master of Education degree in the Moderate Disabilities program at AIC.

Danna Guerrero, a junior majoring in Business Administration, earned a spot on the Dean’s List at Eastern Connecticut State University
