Dustin Johnson says Paulina Gretzky skipped the Open Championship for the beaches of Saint-Tropez

Folks, don’t worry. Paulina Gretzky’s absence from the Open Championship this weekend doesn’t mean there’s trouble in paradise for her and husband Dustin Johnson.

One half of the LIV power couple is not at the Royal Troon because the weather in Scotland is awful. That’s all. She chose the beaches in Saint-Tropez with her girlfriends over a round of golf in bad weather.

Some haters will have a hard time with it, but Johnson totally gets it and plans to join her after the tournament is over. He’s not playing anyway.

When asked by reporters via Golf Digest about his wife’s absence, Johnson said: “No, my wife and a few friends are in Saint-Tropez.”

He added: “I’m meeting her on Sunday.”

When asked if Paulina’s absence was due to the fact that she didn’t like the weather, he replied: “I can’t blame her.”

How could Johnson blame her? She does her best work in a bikini when the sun is shining. That wouldn’t happen in Scotland this week. Saint-Tropez, on the other hand, offered the perfect setting.

This week’s trip takes place shortly after DJ’s 40th birthday celebration, where she went all-in on the cowgirl theme before getting back to the important task of getting her tan.

Paulina and her friends have given Saint-Tropez everything it can handle these past few days. And yes, that includes some cowgirl themes.

This trip could be a longer one for Paulina and her party. Looking ahead to the LIV Golf schedule, there is a tournament taking place in the UK next week.

She’s not working on her tan to show up on that golf course. I don’t think she’s doing that anyway. What I do know for sure is that whenever she does return to the course, she’ll have a first-class tan.
