Nick Marsh named top prospect for Michigan State football

A new era for American football at Michigan State has officially begun.

After four years of Mel Tucker, the Spartans are switching to Jonathan Smith, who comes over from Oregon State. Expectations for the upcoming season after 9-15 in the past two years are minimal. But they are slowly rising.

However, for some newcomers the tension is high.

One of those newcomers is former top-150 recruit Nick Marsh, who was recently named Michigan State’s “top breakout prospect” for the 2024 season by the Saturday Blitz.

Saturday Blitz’s Kaiden Karper had the following to say about Marsh:

“At 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Marsh has the track speed and physical archetype for his size to be a massive mismatch in man coverage. Michigan State already has a trio of solid pass catchers in Jaron Glover, Antonio Gates Jr. and Montorie Foster Jr., but no one has proven to be a true alpha out wide. Marsh could be a difference-maker in the passing game.”

Marsh has generated a lot of hype this offseason, and his performance at the spring game only made fans more excited about what he has to offer. He was the Spartans’ top recruit in the 2024 class, and he has the potential to be a very special player.

If Marsh lives up to his potential, he could be one of the best receivers to ever come out of East Lansing. He was one of the top recruits Smith had to try to keep when he was hired. Fortunately, he was able to convince him to stay a Spartan.

It appears Michigan State fans aren’t the only ones who believe Marsh is going to have a great season in 2024.
