Hot and foggy conditions continue

DISCUSSION: Hot and dry conditions continue to persist with high temperatures today reaching well into the 80s and 90s and low temperatures tonight expected in the 50s and 60s. Today saw a major battle across much of the region with foggy conditions creating moderate to unhealthy air quality for many areas. Expect foggy conditions and areas of smoke to persist into the overnight hours and into most of the morning Monday. Winds will remain light in general; however, beginning tomorrow, winds will become gusty across the plains adjacent to The Northern Rocky Mountain Front. As a result, a Fire Weather Alert has been issued for this area.

Stormtracker Weather

The warmest stretch of the coming week is expected Tuesday through Wednesday as strong warm air advection helps push highs into the mid to upper 90s and 100s. Lows for most locations will only drop into the mid 50s to near 70 degrees each night. There will be daily chances for isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and then at all highs on Wednesday. These showers and thunderstorms and their associated cloud cover may ultimately help to keep temperatures from reaching their highest potential.

TUESDAY: Chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms. Sunny and warm, then mostly clear with highs in the 90s and lows in the 60s. Winds 5 to 10 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny and warm, then partly cloudy with highs of 32/38 degrees and lows of 17 degrees. Wind speed of 8 to 16 km/h, with gusts up to 32 km/h.

THURSDAY: Mostly sunny and warm, then partly cloudy with highs around 32°C and lows around 10°C.

FRIDAY: Sunny, then partly cloudy with temperatures around 32°C and temperatures around 10°C.

SATURDAY: Sunny with highs around 27 degrees.
