There are still so many questions Florida State needs to answer during the ACC Kickoff on Monday, July 22. Here are the top questions that could be asked during the meeting.

During the ACC Football Kickoff, Florida State Football takes the spotlight.

The annual Media Day, which begins at noon on Monday, July 22 and ends on Thursday, July 25, will be held at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina.

During the four-day event, interviews will be held with all 17 head coaches and participating players.

FSU, Georgia Tech and SMU are the schools spotlighted on Monday. FSU coach Mike Norvell is joined by offensive lineman Darius Washington and defensive linemen Patrick Payton and Joshua Farmer.

ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips will address the media on Monday at 1 p.m.

ACC Network will provide live coverage all four days. FSU alumna Taylor Tannebaum has been named the new host of ACC Huddle.

The Seminoles are coming off a 13-1 season. After missing the College Football Playoff despite a perfect regular season record and ACC Championship, FSU suffered its only loss to Georgia in the Capital One Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium.

FSU opens the season in Week 0 against Georgia Tech during the Aer Lingus College Football Classic at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, August 24.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on ESPN.

Below are four questions about FSU with an eye to the meetings.

Will FSU make the 12-team playoffs after being snubbed last year?

Norvell and his returning players say they’ve put missing last year’s College Football Playoffs behind them.

Now it’s a new season with a clean slate.

The College Football Playoff system has expanded to 12 teams, which should give FSU a better shot at the 2024 National Championship if it has similar success to last season.

With the Seminoles getting back key defenders like Payton, Farmer and defenseman Shyheim Brown, and adding talented players in high school and the transfer market, we can expect another strong season this season.

The biggest questions concern the crime.

The loss of star players like quarterback Jordan Travis, running back Trey Benson, receivers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman and tight end Jaheim Bell forced the Seminoles to turn to the transfer market.

Norvell successfully completed the portal again, signing veteran quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, receiver Malik Benson, running backs Roydell Williams and Jaylin Lucas, among other high school and portal recruits.

If they win the ACC this season, the Seminoles will secure a spot in the playoffs under the new system, a big difference from last season’s four-team playoffs.

Given the talent on the roster, there is a good chance that FSU will participate in the first twelve-team play-off.

According to BETMGM, FSU’s odds of winning the national title are +2500.

Could this be the last time we see FSU and Clemson in the ACC?

With the current lawsuit between the school and the conference likely leading to FSU withdrawing from the ACC at some point, fans are wondering if this could be the Seminoles’ final season in the conference.

The program has until August 15 to announce its intention to leave the competition after the 2024-25 season.

Months of litigation, however, suggest that there really is no end in sight for FSU at this point. The Seminoles, of course, need a landing spot, too.

The SEC and Big 10 continue to signal that they are not interested in further expansion. Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark, however, has said he plans to keep his options open amid a potential future realignment of college football.

Currently, FSU is embroiled in litigation with the ACC in both Leon County and North Carolina. As those cases work their way through the legal system — and that could take years — the answer to the future of the school conference will become clearer.

What can we expect from FSU QB DJ Uiagalelei?

Uiagalelei is no Jordan Travis, but the transfer quarterback has a skill set that would fit well in Norvell’s offense.

FSU’s season could hinge on the production of the Oregon State transfer. The Seminoles are hoping Uiagalelei can put out a similar level of play to what he did last season with the Beavers, when he threw for 2,638 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Uiagalelei decided to withdraw from the ACC Kickoff and had Norvell and the returning players speak on his behalf about his expectations.

Uiagalelei didn’t have a strong showing at the Spring Showcase in April, completing 12 of his 26 passes and scoring no touchdowns. However, he had a strong spring performance in practice, often dictating the offense and creating plays to move the ball down the field.

The fifth-year senior has the upper hand thanks to his experienced leadership and knowledge of the ACC.

Uiagalelei played three seasons at Clemson, totaling 5,701 passing yards and 17 touchdowns with the Tigers in a system that never seemed to quite suit his skills.

The Seminoles will take on Uiagalelei’s former team in Week 5, before welcoming the Tigers to Doak Campbell Stadium on Oct. 5.

While Uiagalelei has the talent and tools to take his career to the next level, he still needs to find his new weapons at wide receiver.

Benson, a transfer from Alabama, is expected to be the Seminoles’ top prospect.

WR2 is still possible.
