Truck driver thrown from viaduct in collision with truck

A truck driver died Monday morning after a crash on an overpass in Baton Rouge.

The accident happened on July 22 on Interstate 10, at the eastbound split at Interstate 110 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

According to WBRZ News, the commercial vehicle went into a jackknifing motion as it drove over the overpass, causing it to crash through the guardrail. The crash caused the cab of the semi-trailer to dangle over the overpass, ejecting the truck driver.

The coroner was called to the scene of the wreck, but the truck driver has not been identified. No further information has been released.

The two right lanes are now blocked on I-10 East past Nicholson Drive, leaving the left lane open due to an accident. Congestion is approaching on LA 415 (Lobdell).
