(Cohasset, Minnesota) A coal ash wastewater spill reported last week in Itasca County is larger than initially thought, according to government inspectors. Tuesday’s spill at the Boswell Energy Center in Cohasset amounted to about five million gallons, according to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. The MPCA and Minnesota Power initially estimated the spill at approximately 1 million gallons. (Great Lake, Minnesota) Authorities say no one was injured when a train derailed early Saturday morning in Sherburne County. Fifteen cars carrying consumer goods went off the road at Big Lake around 3:15 a.m. The derailment caused chaos in the train schedule last weekend, as freight trains had to drive around the location. Northstar also had to cancel a train that was taking fans from Big Lake to Minneapolis to watch the Twins game. Crews worked all weekend to clear the site and resume normal operations. (Sauk Rapids, Minnesota) Police are investigating after a man’s body was found at a water play area in Sauk Rapids over the weekend. Police were called to Lions Park around 7am yesterday.
