Michigan State football trending for 4-star California CB

Michigan State’s football season is about a month away, which means recruiting talk will soon die down and we can finally talk about actual football.

Fortunately, the Spartans’ 2025 class is very solid, with 15 total commits thus far. But 15 isn’t enough for a full class, so Jonathan Smith and his staff still have some work to do.

Fortunately, it looks like they’re about to earn their next commitment.

LaRue Zamorano is a four-star corner from Corona, California. He is the No. 245 player in the nation according to Rivals. Zamorano is also the No. 23 player from the state of California and the No. 22 corner in the country.

Earlier on Sunday, Zamorano received two predictions to commit to Michigan State on 247Sports. These predictions came from two national recruiting analysts, which to me is very telling. These guys have no preference for Michigan State whatsoever, so I believe these predictions more than team-specific analysts.

Zamorano made three official visits this summer, the first of which was to Michigan State on the weekend of May 31. He also made official visits to Washington and Kansas in June.

There is currently no timeline for a commitment, but I would imagine one will happen soon. Especially with high school football season starting soon, I would imagine Zamorano would want to get his commitment out of the way so he can focus on his senior year.

Zamorano would be the third commit in the secondary for the Spartans’ 2025 class, meaning he could be the last for this year. He would join George Mullins and Aydan West as the corner commits in Michigan State’s class.

No recruitment is officially over until the player commits, but this one seems as close as it gets to a completed recruitment. Let’s hope Smith holds out until Zamorano makes it official.
