Tryon Author Included in New Writing Anthology – The Tryon Daily Bulletin

TRYON—Tryon author Susan McNabb is one of fourteen authors sharing their “author origin stories” in the anthology Journeys to Authorshipnow available at The Book Shelf at 17 S. Trade St. in Tryon.

The contributing authors met in a writers’ group in Phoenix, Arizona, publish in a variety of genres, and have all taken their own unique paths to writing.

In McNabb’s story, “Flirting with the Flames of Fame,” she finds the publisher of her debut novel not because of her early Hollywood connections, but in spite of them. Tryon helped celebrate her first book launch in 2014 at Upstairs Artspace’s monthly Literary Open Stage event, where she read her opening chapter and shared a sheet cake decorated with her book cover.

Now McNabb has published nine books (some as Suki McMinn) and contributed to ten anthologies. She is a founding member of Tryon Writers, an inclusive group of local writers with over 700 followers on Facebook. Anyone is invited to join and follow local literary news and events by “liking” the Facebook page.

Readers of the Tryon Daily Bulletin know McNabb from her “Tryon Diary” column, which began in 2013. She lives in both Phoenix and Tryon and makes no secret of her preference for Tryon.
