Music2Heal: An Evening of Music and Healing Returns – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

Music2Heal is returning after a successful launch in 2023. The event will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Star Bank Performing Arts Center. Once again, Indianapolis-based Six Foot Blond will headline. This year, the event is partnering with the Zionsville Alliance for Mental Wellness.

Last year, Angie Eugenio started Music2Heal to bring local musicians together and raise money for mental health awareness and support.

About 1,000 people attended the concert, which was held in honor of Angie’s late son, Tate. The event raised more than $15,000 for mental health organizations in the state.

This year’s event will feature some of the same artists and some new ones, with a focus on healing and reaching more people.

Last year, the concert was a chance for artists who knew Tate to heal through music. This year, the goal is to connect people, reduce the stigma around mental health, and share information about resources.

For Six Foot Blond, it was an easy choice to headline again. Several band members knew Tate personally. The goals of the event, namely spreading positivity, connecting people and creating a sense of community, fit the message of the band.

Julia Rusyniak, lead singer and songwriter of Six Foot Blond, believes that music has a powerful healing power. Many of her songs come from personal struggles. When people can relate to the lyrics, it creates a sense of community and shows that no one is alone.

Julia wrote the band’s latest song, “Landgirl,” when she was feeling out of place. She hopes the song, which is about finding your place, will resonate with audiences.

Tickets for Music2Heal are $15 and will be available starting August 1 at 10:00 am via the Star Bank Performing Arts Center website.
