Gretchen Whitmer denies her role as Kamala’s VP

Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer (D) insisted she’s “not going anywhere” when asked if she’d end up on the Democratic Party ticket with vice president Kamala Harris.

“No, I’m not going anywhere,” Whitmer told 6 News after an event in Lansing when asked if she would accept the vice presidential job if offered.

Whitmer also recently debunked rumors that she could be the president’s successor Joe Bidenbefore officially withdrawing from the race.

Whitmer endorsed Harris in a statement on Monday and will remain a co-chair of the campaign.

“In Vice President Harris, Michigan voters have a presidential candidate they can count on to focus on lowering their costs, restoring their freedoms, bringing back jobs and supply chains from overseas, and building an economy that works for working people,” the governor wrote.

In a Substack post Monday, Michael Moore urged Biden to resign and let Whitmer work with Harris. The filmmaker previously helped organize an effort that drew more than 100,

000 people vote “undecided” in Michigan Democratic primary to protest Biden’s handling of Israel-Hamas war.

“I’ve been consistent. I know everyone is always suspicious and asks this question over and over again… I’m not going anywhere,” Whitmer said Monday.
