Coronation Street spoilers – Toyah Battersby’s diagnosis revealed

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has confirmed that Toyah Battersby has cancer.

Toyah recently discovered she may have the condition after initially being told she was pregnant and has leaned on her future brother-in-law Nick for support, especially after their affair.

Nick and Toyah also try to convince Leanne that her spiritual guru Rowan is a fraud, having discovered that the cult leader was once in prison for aggravated burglary and assault.

Leanne initially responded to the revelation by claiming the information was fake, although she did confront Rowan in Monday’s (July 22) episode.

Unfortunately, Rowan manipulated Leanne into admitting that the damaging information was true, but that his work at The Institute had turned his life around.

Toyah and Nick were disappointed that Leanne continued to believe Rowan’s lies. Toyah left for her final hospital appointment, with Nick there for support.

During the consultation, she was told she had ovarian germ cell cancer, which would require surgery to remove the tumor. Toyah was also told she may need chemotherapy.

Back home, Toyah became upset when Leanne callously insinuated that her sister’s cancer may have been caused by her “bad energy”.

Nick snapped and yelled at Leanne, “You’re saying she brought this on herself?! … Good vibes and positivity aren’t going to fix her.”

As Nick and Leanne argued, Toyah sat stunned on the sofa before demanding that they both “shut up”. Toyah eventually told Nick and Leanne that she didn’t want either of them involved in her treatment.

“I can (do this alone) and I will,” she promised.
