Emergency sewer repairs cause partial closure of Lawrence Ave in Springfield.

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — Three of the four lanes on Lawrence Avenue in Springfield are currently closed due to a maintenance emergency.

City officials said three of the four lanes on Lawrence were closed Monday morning due to sewer work. The closure is expected to last through Wednesday.

The southernmost lane of Lawrence is still open, but with three of the four lanes closed, delays are expected. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes to avoid congestion and minimize traffic disruptions.
