“STUDENT ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY AT DEL CAMPO HIGH SCHOOL

On Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at approximately 1:00 p.m., deputies with the Sacramento County Sheriff North Patrol responded to Del Campo High School for a report that a student had been robbed at gunpoint by another student during summer vacation.

Del Campo High School and nearby Will Rogers Middle School were placed on lockdown due to the suspect’s whereabouts being unknown. Officers arrived on scene a short time later and evacuated both campuses, allowing both locations to resume normal operations.

Sheriff’s Robbery Detectives learned that the suspect approached the victim from behind in the restroom, brandished a gun, and stole the victim’s necklace. The suspect then fled on foot before officers arrived on scene.

Thanks to quick assistance from Del Campo High School administrators, detectives were able to quickly identify the suspect as a 15-year-old Del Campo High School freshman.

Detectives obtained a no-bail arrest warrant for the juvenile suspect, who was taken into custody without incident in the early evening of July 11. He was booked into the Sacramento County Juvenile Detention Center and is awaiting arraignment.”
