A Roxbury man who allegedly injured two Boston police officers with a stolen car before one of the officers shot him in the face has been held without bail.

Eyad Abbas, 23, who appeared in court Monday with a massive head wound, faces several charges stemming from an incident near the Forest Hills MBTA station last week.

Boston Police officers responded to a radio call Thursday evening at 66 Hyde Park Ave. for a sighting of a black BMW X7 that had been reported stolen from an auto body shop in Abington. Upon arrival, two officers approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, who was later identified as Abbas.

After a brief conversation, Abbas allegedly put the car in reverse and attempted to flee, injuring the first officer. He had his hands on the door handle and the fender of the vehicle.

Abbas then drove on and allegedly struck the second officer, who fired his service weapon and hit Abbas in the face, causing him to crash into a parked car.

The officer was thrown to the ground and suffered multiple broken bones and lacerations, including a large head wound. The officer was reportedly bleeding profusely.

Abbas and the second officer were taken to local hospitals for treatment. A female passenger in the BMW refused to speak to police and was not arrested.

Abbas has a seven-page file of arrests and summonses dating back to 2019.
