DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Gunfire at an Iowa mall sent people fleeing Monday, leaving one person wounded and expected to survive, police and witnesses said.

Davenport police posted a statement on Facebook saying the injured person’s injuries were not life-threatening after the shooting at NorthPark Mall in Davenport, a city in east-central Iowa near the Illinois border.

Police have not yet released any further details about the shooting, how the person was injured or who he is.

No other injuries were reported, police said. Authorities did not say whether anyone has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Davenport police said they had secured the mall and it remained closed Monday night while police investigated. Authorities also issued a notice urging people to stay away from the mall, and video footage posted online showed police and medics gathered outside the complex.

Jason Signer and Isabelle Ortiz, both 18, told the Quad-City Times they were in the mall when they heard three gunshots and screams. They said they saw people running and they ran.
