Prince Harry will join Ambani’s lavish UK wedding party, despite speculation

Prince Harry is set to return to the UK for a lavish bash thrown by billionaire Anant Ambani and his new wife, Radhika Merchant. It follows their lavish Mumbai wedding, which reportedly cost more than $600 million. The couple, often dubbed the “Windsors of India,” plan to continue their nuptials at the prestigious Stoke Park Country Club near Slough, a venue owned by the Ambani family.

The Ambanis, known for their lavish events, have booked Stoke Park, a Grade II-listed, seven-star hotel, for two months. A source told The Sun: “The Ambanis don’t do things by halves and so they didn’t mind booking the whole venue for two months. The cost to them is a joke.” The festivities at Stoke Park are expected to be attended by prominent figures including former British prime ministers Tony Blair and Boris Johnson, and possibly Prince Harry.

Anant Ambani, son of India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of a millionaire, held a four-day wedding ceremony at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The festivities began with a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony, followed by a grand reception. Their wedding was attended by celebrities including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, and major political figures including Boris Johnson and Tony Blair.

Prince Harry’s potential visit to the United Kingdom for the celebrations would be his first return since May, when he attended a service commemorating 10 years of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Prior to that visit, there had been speculation about a possible reunion with his estranged father, King Charles. However, Harry’s spokesman clarified that such a meeting would not happen due to the king’s busy schedule. Conflicting reports later emerged suggesting that Harry turned down an invitation to stay at a royal residence due to security concerns.

According to The Telegraph, King Charles had agreed to Harry staying at a royal home, potentially allowing for a private gathering. However, Harry reportedly turned down the offer because it did not include security measures, putting him in a visible location with public entrances and exits, and without police protection. As a result, Harry opted to stay at a hotel so he could come and go unnoticed.

The publication adds that Harry remains “devastated” by the fact that his right to automatic police protection in the UK has been revoked, a factor that has become one of the main barriers to reconciliation with his father. Earlier this year, Harry suffered a major setback in his legal battle over the loss of his British police protection when his request to appeal a High Court ruling was rejected.

The Ambanis’ celebrations will continue in the UK, where Stoke Park is booked out until September. About 850 members of the golf club have been advised to avoid the venue during this period. The Ambanis, who previously chartered 100 jets to fly guests to their Mumbai wedding, have made elaborate arrangements for the upcoming festivities. Their extravagant events will include performances by international stars including Rihanna, Akon, Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys, Pitbull and Justin Bieber.

Prince Harry’s attendance at Ambani’s UK celebration could provide a moment’s respite from the ongoing speculation about his strained relationship with the royal family. As he continues to navigate his new life away from royal duties, events like this highlight his continued involvement in high-profile social circles.

Mukesh Ambani, the world’s ninth richest man, bought Stoke Park in 2021 for £57 million. Steeped in history and luxury, the venue is a fitting location for the continuation of the Ambanis’ wedding celebrations, which have already seen unprecedented opulence. With the festivities now moving to the UK, the event promises to be every bit as grand and spectacular as the Mumbai wedding, continuing the Ambanis’ reputation for throwing some of the most extravagant parties in the world.
