Senate Minority Leader weighs in on Harris’ potential nomination

JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri — The news that President Joe Biden is dropping out of the 2024 presidential race has many wondering who will take his place as the party’s nominee.

With Biden out of the race, delegates are going back to the drawing board. Even with Biden endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, delegates are not required to vote for her.

Missouri Senate Minority Leader Doug Beck, one of dozens of representatives elected to represent the state, got the news about Biden while he was knocking on doors for his own campaign. Now he’s retooling his approach.

Beck says Harris was the candidate he originally supported in the 2020 presidential election, but he has yet to actually endorse her.
