LSU employees say Baton Rouge campus is a ‘great place to work’

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A survey conducted by LSU faculty and staff found that LSU Baton Rouge is a great place to work and that staff performance is being delivered.

In September 2023, more than 5,000 employees were sent the 2023 Employee Engagement Survey, but only 2,071 employees participated in the survey.

About 73 percent of respondents said they would recommend LSU as a great place to work, 61 percent of whom are faculty and instructors. This percentage is about 13 points higher than the average for higher education institutions that use Qualtrics, a company that helps obtain survey data and analyze feedback.

The majority of participants, approximately 80%, indicated that they are treated with respect while working at LSU.

The report found that 81% of employees feel fulfilled when they complete their university assignments.

According to the data, employees say the university still has some room for improvement. About 43% of respondents say they trust senior leadership to respond to employee feedback.

Sixty-two percent said it is possible to achieve their career goals while at LSU.

LSU’s Human Resources department indicated that they will work with the various departments to take proactive measures to create a workplace that is aligned with the needs of employees.
