Des Moines Police Identify Victim of City’s 11th Traffic Death in 2024

(Des Moines, IA) — The victim of the eleventh traffic crash in Des Moines this year has been identified.

Des Moines police say 47-year-old Maria Rodriguez was killed in the crash that occurred around 8 p.m. on July 20 at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Holcomb. Multiple people were injured in the crash. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The others injured in the crash remain in hospital.
