Manhunt ends with arrest in Cole County

JEFFERSON CITY, MO (KMIZ)

Authorities found a wanted man at a Cole County convenience store Monday after a search that lasted more than four hours.

Officers found Christopher Hagan of Vienna at Dody’s Convenience Store on Heritage Highway around 5 p.m. Monday, the Cole County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. They were searching for Hagan after Osage and Maries County officers pursued him and attempted to arrest him on Maries County warrants, the news release said.

At 12:30 p.m. Monday, a report came in of a man walking on Buffalo Road who had recently run away from authorities, the news release said. Officers were dispatched to a location where the man had wandered into the woods but were unable to locate him. Missouri State Highway Patrol and state conservation officers assisted in the search.

Hagan was taken to the county line, where Maries County deputies picked him up, the news release said.

Two felony cases have been filed against Hagan in Maries County this year, according to online court records. The most recent charges were filed this month and include misdemeanor resisting arrest and second-degree assault.

Hagan was charged in May in Maries County with drug possession in jail and resisting arrest.
