Video Released: Terrell Davis Wrongly Handcuffed on United Flight

DENVER (KDVR) – After former Broncos player Terrell Davis was handcuffed and taken off a United Airlines flight in front of his family, Davis’ attorneys released video of the “traumatizing experience.”

The video shows an FBI agent along with another law enforcement officer removing Davis from the flight while the rest of the passengers are still on board. It appears that Davis goes along willingly in the video.

Davis’ attorney, Parker Stinar, said he plans to file a lawsuit on behalf of the family within weeks.

Stinar said Davis and his wife know they have a platform, while other people facing social injustices do not.

“Now they are in a position where they can show their children that if something wrong happens, you stand up to it,” Stinar said.

Terrell Davis speaks of ‘reprehensible treatment’ by United

In mid-July, Davis posted on Instagram about his experience on a United flight from Denver to Orange County, California, with his wife, two sons and daughter.

Davis said his son asked the flight attendant for some ice during the flight. When the flight attendant didn’t hear his son, Davis said he tapped the flight attendant, and the flight attendant yelled, “Don’t hit me.”

Davis said that when the plane landed, the pilot asked everyone to remain seated. Then six FBI agents and law enforcement officers boarded the plane and handcuffed Davis without explanation.

The video is captured in the player above.

“The traumatizing experience my two sons, daughter and wife had to watch as I was handcuffed and arrested – without due process or explanation – cannot be undone,” Davis said in his Instagram post.

Davis later said the officers determined the employee had acted improperly and apologized to Davis.

United gave the following statement to FOX31:

“This is clearly not the type of travel experience we strive for and we have reached out to Mr. Davis’ team to apologize. We have removed the flight attendant from duty while we investigate this matter thoroughly.”
