Plans in the dossier to improve plot in Manchester Park

MANCHESTER, CT — The neglected parking lot for Laurel Marsh Park could soon get a makeover.

Late last month, applications were filed with the Planning and Zoning Commission for a wetlands permit and a flood plain permit to replace the current Laurel Marsh Park parking lot, located at 864 Middle Turnpike West, city officials said.

The trail system runs along the Hockanum River.

The works include ‘minor improvements’ to improve drainage and accessibility.

The plot is unpaved and full of holes.

Puddles — some large — usually form after a heavy rain. The trailhead is narrow and uneven.
