Iowa Cubs Press Release

DES MOINES, IA – Seth Beer’s three home runs helped the Indianapolis Indians (41-52) beat the Iowa Cubs (43-54) 13-6 Tuesday night at Principal Park. It was the I-Cubs’ first home game since July 6.

The Indians took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when the first three batters of the night reached base and loaded the bases. Then Malcom Nunez singled in Ji-Hwan Bae, and Henry Davis scored when Edward Olivares grounded into a double play.

Owen Caissie put the Cubs on the board with a late-inning home run, hitting the ball 379 feet at 109 miles per hour.

Beer made it 3-1 with his first home run of the game in the second inning, but Iowa tied the score at 3-3 late in the third inning thanks to RBI doubles by Jake Hager and Chase Strumpf in the second and third innings, respectively.

From that point on, highlighted by two more home runs by Beer and one by Jake Lamb, good for a total of seven runs, the visitors defeated the I-Cubs 10-3.

Indy scored one run in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to secure a 13-6 victory.
