New Clairvaux Vineyard recently became the first winery to win three of the six coveted Golden Bears at a competition held at the California State Fair. The vineyard, located in Vina, was honored Monday in Sacramento at the Cal Expo. The three Golden Bears received included Best of Show White for its rare Greek varietal, a 2023 St. James Block Moschofilero (Double Gold, 99 pts) and Best of Show Pink for its dry 2023 Poor Souls Block Barbera Rose (Double Gold, 99 pts). The third Golden Bear goes to Golden State Winery of the Year for producing so many high-scoring wines, including a Best of California Abbey Angelica Lot 11 (Double Gold, 99 pts).
