It is with deep sorrow and deep love that we announce the passing of the wonderful Josephine Dorothy Bryant. She passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024 at the exceptional age of 108.
Jo’s loving family cherishes her heart, including her daughter Sharon, grandchildren Rick and Gregg Milton, and great-grandchildren DJ, Tyler and Randy, and of course everyone she touched with her vibrancy and kindness.
Now she will join those who died before her, including her first husband, Harold Holley, and her second husband, Art Bryant.
Josephine was born in Vancouver, BC on February 13, 1916 and lived a remarkable 108 and a half years filled with joy and purpose. She was a dedicated Brownie and Guide leader, managed Stedman’s store with dedication and found immense joy in gardening, knitting and reading. Jo was an avid hockey fan, always cheering on her beloved Vancouver Canucks. At home, Jo’s cakes were always a hit with family and guests. However, the cakes she made with the ladies of her church for bake sales and events were truly incredible.
Known for her ever-cheerful demeanor and sharp sense of humor, Jo never hesitated to call nonsense, and valued honesty and integrity. Her love of bright and cheerful colors reflected her vibrant spirit. Jo’s unwavering dedication to helping others and her infectious happiness will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC with Kim Bergstrom as Celebrant. In honor of Jo’s love of color, she would like family and friends to wear bright colors at her celebration.
